Sollefteå is the inland municipality in southern Norrland, which in recent years has traded decommissioning and relocation for development and forward thinking. Already today, the curves point steeply upwards - thanks, among other things, to purposeful work to promote the business climate and the re-establishment of I 21 Västernorrland's Regiment - but the full potential still lies in the years to come.

 

The construction of the new regiment means, for example, investments in the billions and, in the long run, hundreds of new jobs. In Hamre outside Långsele, Uniper and South African Sasol have advanced plans for an industrial establishment linked to sustainable jet fuel in Hamre, this too with the potential to create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the area.

 

Other major industries in Sollefteå municipality include forestry, energy and, more recently, the hospitality industry, which has received a major boost through the collaboration around the destination Höga Kusten. Together with a wide range of small and medium-sized companies in everything from trade and service to IT and the manufacturing industry, Sollefteå municipality is in an upward spiral of establishments, increased occupancy and growth.
